Minutes
-Call to order: Chairman, Andy Spino called the meeting to
order at 4:00 p.m.
-Roll Call of Board Members and Resort Management: Andy
Spino, Nancy Spino, Charles Albertson, Marilyn Hurst, Jerry Spencer, John
Brough, Carol Miller-Historian, and Lorrae Ryf.
-Minutes of June 16, 2010 Board meeting approved
1. Several
volunteers built the information board; can others be built elsewhere on the
resort? Reply: Yes. On the outside wall of the bathhouse between B & C.
2. Weeds
in storage area-can owners be called for an OK to move their camper to mow?
Reply: A resort employee must be there overseeing the job.
3. Camping
reservations-can reservations ask owner what amp they need for their camper so
popups are not on 50 amp sites? Reply: No longer have 50 amp sites.
4. Putt-Putt
needs bumpers. Reply: Volunteers will work on it.
5. Pond
& fountain at the pool-electrical cord hazardous. Reply: OK now.
6. Comfort
Station
-Some showerheads in Comfort Station and
pool showers need replacing; waterflow no longer desirable. Reply: All
showerheads but one have been replaced.
-Lights being left on. What about
installing sensor lights? Reply: Tried the sensor lights but it didn’t work out
satisfactorily.
Comments from owners:
-Something needs to be done in some of the
ponds that are being taken over by grass, etc. There was discussion of using
bails of barley and also of certain fish that feed on this growth in the ponds.
Reply: Barley extract was put in ponds; slowly working. Will look into getting
the fish that eat the growth in ponds.
-Toilets need to be double-flushed. Water
pressure issue? Reply: Filters being replaced.
-The mowing by the creek by permanents and
B is very dusty for this time of year. Can this be postponed? Reply: The mowing
has stopped now.
-Can the resort fog to cut down on mosquitoes.
Reply: Probably not; very expensive.
Status on the
following:
1. There
is some outdated information on the website such as advertising that there are
tennis courts and canoes. Who is in charge of reviewing the website and getting
it updated? Reply: New webmaster will be taking care of the website soon.
2. Swings,
slide, and ground around swings in the campground – use new tree mulch? Reply:
Done.
3. Marina
buoy. Reply: On order.
4. Removing
abandoned campers from storage. Reply:
Discussion
about anyone with an owner’s card having access to storage area even if they do
not store anything there.
A
volunteer section with pictures showing work done by volunteers will be added
to the website.
Grand
Haven in Ohio, Pymatuning Resort in PA, and Holly King in Florida are the other
campgrounds owners can use by making a reservation 45 days in advance,
Jerry
Spencer was voted in as vice-chairman for the remainder of the year.
